Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both of whom were lawyers. She was moved to Oxfordshire when she was five years old and attended the Dragon School. Emma was six years old when she realized she wanted to be an actor. She was trained for many years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a full-time school of theatre in Oxford where she studied acting as well as singing. She had already performed in several Stagecoach or school shows when she was 10 years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) was the movie version from J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was cast for the first time at the beginning of 1999. Emma was discovered as a casting agent by her Oxford drama instructor. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint following auditions for 8 times. They were cast as the 3 leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's debut on the big screen came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which was released in 2001. The most successful film of 2001 it set new records in its first day opening and its opening weekend earnings. It was highly acclaimed by reviewers, and so were the performances of its three starlets. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her performance. Later Emma was shortlisted for five awards for her role in the film, winning the Young Artist Award for Leading Young Actress in a feature Film.
